Dear Member

 

Since my last letter, we celebrated a very successful St Andrew’s Night on 30 November as part of our Dance Scottish event, and a great Ceilidh  in December. 

 

The Biennial Ball at Croydon High School, was also a successful event although numbers were down, the people who attended enjoyed dancing to Robin Ellis and also enjoyed a delicious supper.   I do need to inform you that we did run at a loss, but we hope to be able to cushion this loss with the profit from our monthly dances.

 

Summer School at St Andrew’s runs from 15 July - 12 August.  If you apply by 31 March the fees are reduced.    RSCDS HQ website is rscds.org.   

 

We have booked the Cumberland Hotel, Eastbourne for our November weekend - 9-11 November £115 for members and £120 for non members.  Application forms will be available at the AGM in June and in the Autumn Newsletter.

 

Your Committee is in the process of discussing plans for our 60th Birthday Party in December2013 as our Branch was founded in December 1953, and in 2014, we are going to have a Diamond Anniversary Ball - the suggested date is 18 January 2014.   We are looking at halls and at bands.  As details become available, we will let you all know.
